Round-the-world flyer now an Ocala resident

CarolAnn Garratt’s name is familiar to those who know a young Florida woman made a solo flight around the world in her Mooney M20J in 2003 to increase awareness about ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease.

But what many DON’T KNOW is that the former Kissimmee resident now lives in Ocala.

She has joined the ranks of residential aviation community dwellers, moving to Leeward Air Ranch with her Mooney, N220FC. Garratt started out as a mechanical engineering student, which led to a career in manufacturing engineering.
